The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Rabiu Shuaibu, winner of the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency bye-election.
The INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Umar Sani, who made this declaration on Sunday, noted that Shuaibu polled 35,356 votes to defeat Lawal Garba-Haruna of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), who scored 268 votes, and Abubakar Yahaya-Muhammad of the Labour Party (LP), who garnered 98 votes.

Announcing the results, he said, “The election was contested. That Rabiu Shuaibu of APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected.”
Sunday Telegraph reports that the l bye-election was conducted to fill the vacancy created by the death of Muhammad Danjuma-Hassan of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
